Your Instructor:
Hey, there! My name is Dr. Eric Patrick, a pharmacist in Dallas, TX, and I'll be your instructor. I started investing outside of my 401(k) in 2014 after my wife and I found out that we were going to have a baby and wanted to replace some or all of her income that we'd soon forfeit. As I began sharing what I was learning about the stock market on Instagram, I realized how much of a need there was for people of color to learn the same things I was learning about investing in the stock market.
Later that year, I created Black Market Exchange (BMEX) and have been loving the ride ever since. I'm known as the "Hip-Hop Stock Doc" since I use hip-hop and pop culture to explain personal finance and investing concepts in an entertaining and easily digestible way.
Outside of BMEX, I like to spend time with my wife and two daughters, travel locally and soon internationally, and help solopreneurs and small businesses grow their brands on social media.
